<description>My name is Manoel Dantas, and I am a MSc. candidate at Universidade
Federal Fluminense @ Telecommunication area in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I dropped by your P2P JXTA article thru IBM Developerworks, and I became
very interested on deploying this technology in some of my University
studies.
I am writing a game which can be deployed on some different hardware
architecture, for instance, PC, handset and now the Brazilian Digital
Television System (http://www.sbrt.org.br/sbrt08/prog.htm#link).
We are using NetBeans IDE successfuly and I am using RMI to enable
network multiplaying. I am also in a process of porting the network
stuff using a "not too heavy" protocol, and I became very interested
to use JXTA in our project !
I´ve checked out the jxta home page, and I´ve downloaded all stuff,
but unfortunately I stuck on how toport, in a correct and efficient
manner the game. For instance, I don´t know is I have to put both
server and client code in the same module. I understood the process
(clients contact the server via rendezvous service). I saw the demo
and it seems very suitable to me, since the TV code is AWT
compatible code, and I ran the same code on both platforms (PC and TV)
with small changes.
Unfortunately I tried to use some of the examples that I got from the
JXTA site and if I, for instance, use combo box as a enter command,
the J2ME issues an error message.
Could you please shed a light on this ?
Thanks in advance,

		<description>Hi Michael,

It's great to find an expert who knows about all various platforms for mobile development. I didn't find an email for you, so I'll post a question in here. I worked on mobile devices just briefly when .NET and J2ME started popping up, but I haven't touched them ever since. I was wondering if you can tell me which one of the two will work best if I wanted to create an ActiveX control to buzz/vibrate a Pocket PC device? It requires hardware interaction, so would it be better to develop something using ATL instead?

Please send me an email with your reply. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise.

p.s.- I'm hooked on your blog now. :)</description>
