Fish Heaven
Just got back from our 10 day vacation in Hawaii (Oahu and Kauai). Snorkeling there was so good it was unbelievable. Check out the short video below. I took the video using my “underwater” camera and the sound of “darth vader breath” is my own from the snorkel mask.

Michael,
What camera were you using for this? My wife and I were in Hawaii last year at this time and loved every minute of it. We did some snorkeling in Kona. We already have a trip planned for next January. Thanks for the info on the camera.

I had the Pentax Optio WP. It has 3x optical zoom, 5 megapixel, a large LCD, and most importantly, waterproof. It can take pictures and videos (in 320×240 mov format) underwater. And apparently, it handles salt water just fine.
I think it is a great camera for snorkeling / kayaking / mudding hiking. Note that it is only certified for submerging in 10 feet of water. So, it is NOT suitable for diving.
Amazon now has an updated version of the camera (7 megapixel) for sale for $183 (after rebate).
I try to rinse it with fresh water every time after I used it in salt water. I also let it dry before open the cover to change memory card / read images etc.
Finally, have fun in your vacation!
cheers
Michael

Very nice video and picture!
I wish I saw this a few years ago! We came here for snorkeling, first time in my life. It’s great experience, but could be more fun and keep better memory if armed with camera like yours.
Thanks for sharing!
